John McNamara
Although we didn’t meet until 1975, John and I both preserved our ticket stubs from that fateful night in 1971 when our Washington Senators played their last game. We were sitting with our dads, John in section 210 and me in section 205! [John’s preserved ticket stub provided courtesy of Andrea Chamblee, his wife of 33 years.]
During Game Four of the 2019 NLCS, I wanted to capture a very specific photo: the flower box atop the left field wall at Nationals Park where John’s ashes were placed in 2018, and left fielder Juan Soto who John predicted just a few weeks into his major league career would be the next Bryce Harper. Mission accomplished!
